Intro: The Park Rangers were responsible for patrolling a huge area with limited cellular coverage, making communication and tracking difficult. In case of an emergency, it was challenging to get help quickly, and it put the safety of the rangers and visitors at risk.
They needed a solution that would enable them to stay connected even in remote areas. One that is a lightweight and compact enough to fit in your palm, while providing two-way messaging, real-time tracking, and SOS features.
Implementation: Garmin inReach Mini 2 Satellite Communicators
The Park Rangers started using the Garmin Mini 2 satellite communicator. They also started using the EVERYWHERE HUB and Mobile App, which provided a complete solution for communication and tracking. The app allowed them to see the real-time location of the rangers, track their movements, and communicate with them using two-way messaging.
The EVERYWHERE HUB was set up at the park headquarters for all communications and tracking. The rangers were monitored by the Hub using their Garmin Mini 2 devices, and the Hub would relay their location and messages to the park headquarters.
Esri Base Maps
Esri maps are the industry standard for enterprise and government organizations. With the EVERYWHERE Always Connected™ platform, customers will be able to see the location of their people and assets overlayed onto their Esri maps.
Results: A complete solution for communication and tracking for the Park Rangers
The EVERYWHERE Platform provided a complete solution for communication and tracking, which made it easier for the rangers to patrol the vast park area. The rangers felt safer knowing that they could send an SOS signal in case of an emergency, and help would be on the way quickly. The EVERYWHERE Hub and Mobile App also made it easier for the park headquarters to communicate with the rangers and track their movements. The headquarters could see the real-time location of the rangers and communicate with them using two-way messaging. This enabled them to respond quickly to any issues or emergencies in the park.
